Bishop, Jr. (GA-02) presented a ceremonial check to the Boys and Girls Club of Albany, Inc. representing $1,850,000 in federal funding that the Congressman secured for them as part of the Fiscal Year 2023 funding bill. The funds will be used by the Boys and Girls Club to make improvements to its facilities in Albany, Montezuma, and Plains.

CAMILLA, GA– On Friday, Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (GA-02) presented a ceremonial check to the Southwest Georgia Regional Commission representing the $3,941,986 in federal funding that the Congressman secured for the organization as part of the Fiscal Year 2023 funding bill. The Southwest Georgia Regional Commission will use the funds to help Baker, Calhoun, Colquitt, Decatur, Early, Grady, Miller, Mitchell, Seminole, Terrell, Thomas, and Worth Counties purchase interoperable P25 radio system equipment.

DAWSON, GA – On Friday, Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (GA-02) presented a ceremonial check to the Golden Triangle Resource Conservation and Development Council (RCDC) representing $1,000,000 in federal funding that the Congressman secured as part of the Fiscal Year 2023 funding bill.
Congressman Bishop is a senior leader on the U.S. House of Representatives' Appropriations Committee. He serves as the Ranking Member, top Democrat, on the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Agriculture, Rural Development, Food & Drug Administration, and Related Agencies. He is also a member of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies as well as the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Financial Services and General Government.

BAINBRIDGE, Ga. (WALB) - A park known as Chason Park is getting expanded thanks to federal funds.
The City of Bainbridge was awarded $1.2 million from the Department of Community Affairs for Rural Downtown Redevelopment. They also received over $30,000 from a trust foundation. All the money will go towards the Chason Park Expansion Project.
The project is currently in its third phase. The park expansion will include two playgrounds, a splash pad, a grand staircase and some historical additions such as a memorial fountain.
