Applying for Federal Grants: Requesting a Letter of Support
Should a local government, community organization, or business – that is eligible – apply for a federal grant or loan program, it may request a Congressional Letter of Support from Congressman Bishop. While a Letter of Support does not guarantee an award, demonstrated Congressional support can sometimes help an application gain approval from a federal agency or department.
All organizations are required to upload a one-page draft of the letter of support that they are requesting. Please ensure that draft is successfully uploaded as a Word Document or PDF to this portal before hitting “Submit.”
By filling out the information below you understand this is not an application for federal funding. Submission of this information does not create a binding commitment on any party nor a guarantee that any organization or program will be awarded funding from any federal agency through the appropriations process. Furthermore, the submission, review, and approval of applications for federal funding will be carried out consistent with federal agency rules and regulations.
You may not request a letter of support from Congressman Bishop for appropriations requests. This is a separate process with separate guidelines which are determined each fiscal year by the U.S. House Appropriations Committee.
