Appropriations
Congressman Bishop is a senior leader on the U.S. House of Representatives' Appropriations Committee. He serves as the Ranking Member, top Democrat, on the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Agriculture, Rural Development, Food & Drug Administration, and Related Agencies. He is also a member of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies as well as the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Financial Services and General Government.
As an appropriator, he helps craft the annual federal funding bill which sets the amounts for discretionary funding for federal departments, agencies, and programs.
Those seeking to make community project, programmatic, and/or language requests may do so according to the guidelines set by the committee majority each funding cycle.
- Programmatic request: Specific funding levels for agencies and programs funded in the twelve appropriations bills.
- Language request: Bill language or report language directing or encouraging specific actions by federal agencies.
- Community Project Funding request: Funding for specific projects in the community that meet requirements established by federal law, House Rules, and the Committee to ensure only high quality projects are requested and funded.

The submission period for Fiscal Year 2027 (FY27) appropriations is now open.
Community Project Funding Requests (deadline: 3/9/26 at 12noon)
Organizations and local governments may submit Community Project Funding requests to Congressman Bishop's office for Fiscal Year 2027 (FY27) by completing the following online form, linked below, and submitting evidence of local public support (upload as part of the online application form).

Language and Programmatic Requests (deadline: 3/9/26 at 12noon)
The office is currently accepting appropriations language and programmatic requests. This webpage will be updated with deadlines for submissions.
Individuals or organizations wishing to make Language and Programmatic requests for FY27 can do so by completing the U.S. Rep. Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (GA02 Bishop) FY27 Appropriations Language and Programmatic Request Form, linked below, and submitting it to GA02appropriations@mail.house.gov.
