Bishop Jr. (GA-02) announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is awarding four grants totaling $21,102,507 to Enrichment Services Program, Inc. in Columbus, Georgia, for its Head Start and Early Head Start programs. The Head Start program supports early learning and development, health, and well-being for low-income families.

The college will use the funds to recruit individuals into allied health professions with the overall goal of addressing the nursing shortage throughout Southwest Georgia.

Bishop, Jr. (GA-02) presented a ceremonial check to the Boys and Girls Club of Albany, Inc. representing $1,850,000 in federal funding that the Congressman secured for them as part of the Fiscal Year 2023 funding bill. The funds will be used by the Boys and Girls Club to make improvements to its facilities in Albany, Montezuma, and Plains.
