WASHINGTON, DC – Yesterday, Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (GA-02) and Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-03) sent a letter to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Secretary Sonny Perdue urging him to take action to ensure American families have food security during the ongoing coronavirus outbreak (COVID-19). Each year, programs such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and Child Nutrition programs provide millions of children and families with access to food.

ALBANY, GA – Today, Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (GA-02) invited high school students from Georgia's 2^nd Congressional District to participate in the 38^th Annual Congressional Art Competition.

"I am excited to announce that my office is now accepting entries for this year's Congressional Art Competition," said Congressman Bishop. "This competition is a tremendous opportunity to showcase the considerable artistic talent of Georgia's 2^nd Congressional District's high school students, and I am eager to see this year's entries!"

WASHINGTON, DC – Yesterday, Congressman Sanford Bishop (GA-02) and Congressman Rob Woodall (GA-07) introduced the bipartisan Freight Restriction Elimination for Safer Hauling (FRESH) Act, which would allow vehicles carrying perishable goods to operate on the Interstate Highway System at the same weight tolerances/limits that states allow on their respective state roads and highways.

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. and the U.S. Census Bureau will be hosting three 2020 Census Job Fairs for constituents interested in earning some extra money while helping their community ahead of the 2020 Census count in April.

Pay starts at $14 an hour. Census takers in Middle and Southwest Georgia will primarily follow-up with non-respondents.
