Bishop, Jr. (GA-02) supported H.R. 6833, a short-term funding bill commonly referred to as a Continuing Resolution, that will keep the federal government open through mid-December as Congressional Democrats and Republicans in the House and Senate work towards a final, full-year funding bill.

DONALSONVILLE, GA – Yesterday, Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (GA-02) received the Friend of Farm Bureau award from the American Farm Bureau Federation. The ceremony was held at the American Peanut Growers Group, LLC shelling facility in Donalsonville, Georgia.
In his remarks, Congressman Bishop noted the enormous effect that agriculture has on Georgia and America's economy.
"I want to thank the Georgia Farm Bureau and the American Farm Bureau Federation for this award," said Congressman Bishop.

Kemp encouraging him to accept federal funds that can be used to expand Medicaid in an effort to stem the tide of hospital closures in the state. Wellstar Atlanta Medical Center is the latest hospital to announce its permanent closure, slated for November 1.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Saturday, Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (GA-02) participated in the 30th Anniversary Ocmulgee Indigenous Celebration at the Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park. During the event, he joined U.S. Department of the Interior Secretary Deb Haaland, whose historic appointment last year made her the first Native American to serve in a Cabinet Secretary position.
