Bishop, Jr. (GA-02), Ranking Member of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Agriculture, Rural Development, Food & Drug Administration, and Related Agencies, announced a $222,081 Rural Decentralized Water Systems grant to Golden Triangle Resource Conservation and Development Council (RCDC). The grant is part of USDA's Rural Development program and will help finance direct loans for household water well installments.

Bishop, Jr. (GA-02), Ranking Member of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Agriculture, Rural Development, Food & Drug Administration, and Related Agencies, announced two awards totaling $376,500 in Community Facilities Direct Loans and Grants for the City of Blakely. USDA's Rural Development program will help the City of Blakely purchase a new grapple and garbage truck.

The city will use the funds to install a pump station, clean water lines, and Ultraviolet Treatment System at its wastewater treatment plant.

The funds will be used by the Boys and Girls Club to make improvements to its facilities in Albany, Montezuma, and Plains.
