U.S. Rep. Sanford Bishop told more than 530 people at a town hall meeting he had not made up his mind on how he would vote on health care reform legislation.
Congressman Bishop delivered the following remarks at the Health Care Town Hall events in Columbus, Fort Valley, Bainbridge, and Albany in August of 2009:
I am pleased to be here today to engage in what I hope will be a respectful and informative dialogue on one of the most consequential measures to ever come before the United States Congress – health care reform.

Congressman Sanford Bishop says the U.S. military mission in Iraq is going well, and the pace of troops returning home should pick up.
Bishop led a Congressional delegation this week that met with military, political and intelligence leaders in Iraq.

Bishop, Jr. (GA-02) joined today with his Democratic colleagues and fellow Members of the Blue Dog Coalition to pass H.R. 2920, the Statutory Pay-As-You-Go (“PAYGO”) Act. The bill marks a crucial step in bringing the federal budget under control by following the most basic of budgeting rules: don't spend money you don't have.
Washington, D.C. – Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (GA-02) announced today that the House of Representatives passed the Fiscal Year 2010 Agriculture Appropriations bill, which includes $2.8 million in funding for six Southwest Georgia projects.
