Bishop, Jr., (GA-02) joined Congressman John Moolenaar (MI-02) to introduce H.R. 1020, the Broadening Online Opportunities Through Simple Technologies (BOOST) Act. The two serve as the Democratic and Republican leaders of the bipartisan bill which would allow rural households to claim a $300 tax credit for the purchase of a home Wi-Fi signal booster or mobile hotspot to access the internet.
WASHINGTON – This week, Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr., (GA-02) joined House Budget Chairman Jodey Arrington (TX-19) to introduce H.R. 601, the Estate Tax Rate Reduction Act. This bipartisan legislation would cut the estate tax in half and provide tax relief to family-owned businesses. Currently, the estate tax is the highest tax rate in the U.S. Tax Code at 40%.

Bishop, Jr. (D-GA-02), Drew Ferguson (R-GA-03), Dan Kildee (D-MI-08), and Adrian Smith (R-NE-03) led U.S. House approval of S.759, the Beagle Brigade Act. The bill was approved by the U.S. House with an overwhelmingly bipartisan vote of 381-20 and previously passed the U.S. Senate by unanimous consent last month.
