Transportation & Infrastructure
Congressman Bishop supports federal investments to in America's infrastructure and transportation networks. These are fundamental to people's quality of life and the well-being of the country's economy.
Federal support helps bridge the large upfront costs that local governments must overcome to implement infrastructure and transportation projects which are crucial for connecting Middle & Southwest Georgia's cities, suburban communities, and rural areas with one another and the world.
In 2021, Congressman Bishop supported the passage of the bipartisan infrastructure law, the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, which will bring billions of dollars' worth of infrastructure investments to Georgia over the next decade. These funds will make Georgia's roads, railways, bridges, and airports safer and more efficient. The law invests in water projects so that Georgians have access to affordable drinking water, irrigation, and sewage systems. The law helps ensure that all communities have access to affordable high-speed internet which supports everything from education and healthcare to public safety and local businesses.
Congressman Bishop knows that investing in America's infrastructure improves the resiliency of the nation's supply chain, helps reduce inflation, and makes the country stronger. Investing in infrastructure not only creates good paying jobs for local communities, it also helps grow these communities and provide new opportunities for families and businesses to thrive.
