Congressman Bishop receives the 2022 Congressional Leadership Award from the Friends of the Job Corps Caucus

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (GA-02), co-chair of the bipartisan Congressional Job Corps Caucus received the 2022 Congressional Leadership Award from the Friends of the Congressional Job Corps Caucus for his staunch support of the Job Corps program.
Congressman Bishop also welcomed Job Corps students who visited the U.S. Capitol to meet with legislators and discuss the benefits of the program as well as how it can be improved. He was joined by U.S. House Education and Labor Committee Chair Bobby Scott (D-VA), U.S.

Bishop, Jr. (GA-02) supported the approval of S. 4359, a bill to name the Department of Veterans Affairs regional office in Atlanta after the late U.S. Senator from Georgia, Johnny Isakson, who passed away in December 2021. Congressman Bishop and Congressman Rick Allen (GA-12) introduced the bipartisan companion bill in the U.S. House of Representative which was cosponsored by the entire Georgia Congressional delegation.

Congressman Bishop urges his colleagues to support a bill naming a VA medical center in Atlanta for former Sen. Max Cleland

Bishop, Jr. (GA-02) supported the approval of S. 3369, a bill that would designate the Department of Veterans Affairs medical center in Atlanta, Georgia, after former U.S. Senator Joseph Maxwell Cleland. Senator Cleland passed away in November 2021. Congressman Bishop was a cosponsor of the bipartisan companion bill in the U.S. House.
