ALBANY, Ga. – U.S. Labor Secretary Marty Walsh joined Congressman Sanford Bishop and Turner Job Corps leaders to tour the facility, answer questions students had and hear their concerns.
During Secretary Walsh's tour, the discussion was focused around the value of training for the workforce which helps in strengthening the economy.

Federal money is coming to Columbus Technical College.
Congressman Sanford Bishop announcing today that three institutions will receive grant funding through the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund, including CTC.
The school will receive just over $1.2 million towards specialized training and education, supporting enrollment efforts and student financial aid.
The relief fund is authorized by the American Rescue Plan Act that was signed in March of last year.

Bishop, Jr. (GA-02) is pleased to announce the selection of three district institutions to receive grant funding through the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) totaling $3,048,137. These funds have been allocated to the South Georgia Technical College ($691,171), Albany Technical College ($1,146,963), and Columbus Technical College ($1,210,003) and will go toward specialized training and education, supporting enrollment efforts, and student financial aid.
