COLUMBUS, GA – Next Tuesday, October 17, 2017, Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (GA-02), Co-chair of the Congressional Military Family Caucus (CMFC), will host a Military Family Summit at the National Infantry Museum near Fort Benning in Columbus, Georgia. Bishop Jr. (GA-02), is pleased to announce that the Rural Development agency of the U.S. Department of Agriculture has approved over $6.5 million in funding to the City of Butler, as well as an $8,248 grant to Brumbelow Foods in Randolph County, both located in the 2nd Congressional District of Georgia.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (GA-02) authored a letter to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers concerning the ongoing hydrilla infestation in Lake Seminole.
In the letter, Congressman Bishop urged the Army Corps to dedicate sufficient resources to control the hydrilla growth and preserve the natural ecology of Lake Seminole. Congressman Bishop also called on the Army Corps to adequately prioritize and restore functionality to the Water F.
