WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Bishop voted against the Fiscal Year 2024 Military Construction and Veterans Affairs (FY24 MilConVA) funding bill which threatened the readiness and safety of U.S. military installations and the well-being of veterans, but it was narrowly approved by the U.S. House on a party-line vote.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (GA-02) and Congressman Earl L. “Buddy” Carter (GA-01) and today introduced the bipartisan, bicameral Healthy Moms and Babies Act to combat the United States’ maternal mortality crisis, modernize the health care system, and improve health outcomes for women and children.

The Congressional Military Family Caucus recognizes that when a service member joins the military, it is not a job - it is a family commitment to our country. Each year, the caucus hosts an annual summit to address the challenges faced by America's military families.

This year's event took place on Tuesday, August 8, 2023. The summit's theme was "Together We Thrive: Strengthening Resilience and Enhancing Well-being in Military Families".

WASHINGTON, DC – Yesterday, Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr., Ranking Member of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies – and all subcommittee Democrats – opposed the Fiscal Year (FY) 2024 Agriculture appropriations bill offered by the Majority. The bill passed on a party-line vote and now moves to the full House Appropriations Committee for consideration.
