Lowey (D-NY-17) introduced new legislation to provide relief and recovery assistance for Americans affected by recent natural disasters:
WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (GA-02) issued the following statement concerning the release of the President's Fiscal Year (FY) 2020 Budget Request:
"Yesterday, the President released his FY 2020 Budget Request. Similar to the past years, it proposes increases to defense spending at the expense of vital domestic programs. Having a better equipped and more prepared military is integral to our national defense; however, we must prioritize both our non-defense and defense needs.
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (GA-02) released the following statement after tornadoes touched down in four states, resulting in the deaths of at least 23 people and causing a swath of destruction in its wake.
"My prayers are with those who lost their lives and who have been severely impacted from yesterday's tornadoes. I am grateful to the first responders who have been working tirelessly to find the missing, clearing debris, and are caring for the injured," said Bishop.
