Bishop, Jr. (GA-02), Ranking Member of the U.S. House Appropriations Subcommittee on Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies, released the following statement regarding his support of the bipartisan Fiscal Year (FY) 2017 Omnibus Appropriations government spending bill.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (GA-02) authored a letter to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers concerning the ongoing hydrilla infestation in Lake Seminole.

In the letter, Congressman Bishop urged the Army Corps to dedicate sufficient resources to control the hydrilla growth and preserve the natural ecology of Lake Seminole.

Throughout my career in Congress I have maintained a reputation for working across the aisle to craft and enact sensible policies and sensible budgets on a bipartisan basis. My only litmus test has been whether a particular bill, budget, resolution, or other action will improve the lives of the hard working people of the Second Congressional District of Georgia.
