COLQUITT, GA – Today, Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (GA-02) presented a ceremonial check at the Miller County Commission offices which represent the $161,167 in federal funding that the Congressman secured as part of the Fiscal Year 2023 funding bill.

Congressman Sanford Bishop took time off the campaign trail Thursday to stop by Pelham City Hall to place the ceremonial first E911 call on the city's new radio system, which was purchased with federal funds Bishop helped obtain for Pelham.

According to Pelham city manager Christian Drake, the need to upgrade the city's public safety radio system has been an issue for approximately five years.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (GA-02) supported legislation to prevent the sale, manufacture, transfer, or possession of semi-automatic assault weapons. These weapons, along with high-capacity magazines, have been used far too many times in mass shootings that devastate families and communities and put our police at undue risk. Semi-automatic assault weapons were originally banned in 1994.
