Bishop, Jr. (GA-2) today sent a letter to Governor Nathan Deal to highlight the possible adverse results from the Governor’s proposed changes to the Georgia Family Connection Partnerships (GaFCPs). Governor Deal is proposing to consolidate and transfer appropriated funds away from the Department of Human Services and directing them to the Governor’s Office for Children & Families (GOCF).

“Georgia and America have lost a great public servant in Olan Faulk. His work as a rural educator, a community action program administrator, a long-time and effective aide for former U.S. Senator Sam Nunn, and as Mayor of his hometown of Richland, Georgia, are proof positive that Olan Faulk made a difference with his life.”

Washington, DC – Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (GA-2), Ranking Member of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Military Construction and Veteran Affairs, announced today his introduction of H.R. 333, the Disabled Veterans Tax Termination Act. This legislation will end finally the current policy that wrongfully prevents disabled veterans from receiving the full amount of compensation earned by them through their service and sacrifice to our country. H.R. 333 has 72 original co-sponsors.
