Mr. BISHOP of Georgia. Mr. Speaker, it is my honor and pleasure to
extend my personal congratulations and best wishes to an exceptional
community leader and outstanding citizen, Ms. Kay H. Hind, on the
occasion of her retirement from the SOWEGA Council on Aging in Albany,
Georgia on Friday, March 31, 2017.

Kay Hind was born in Albany, Georgia. She attended Georgia
Southwestern College (now University) in Americus, Georgia before

Mr. BISHOP of Georgia. Mr. Speaker, it is my honor and pleasure to
extend my personal congratulations to an exceptional community leader
and outstanding citizen, Mrs. Rhudine Warren Nelson Dorsey, fondly
known as Dina, as she celebrates 45 years of service with the Georgia
Legal Services Program.

Dina was born to John and Minnie Warren in Columbus, Georgia. As an
``Army brat,'' her family moved around a lot and she attended several

Mr. BISHOP of Georgia. Mr. Speaker, it is with a heavy heart and
solemn remembrance that I rise today to pay tribute to an outstanding
public servant and friend of longstanding, the Honorable Dawson Mathis.

Mr. BISHOP of Georgia. Mr. Speaker, I rise today to extend my
sincerest congratulations and Happy Birthday wishes to Mrs. Pearl
Biggs, who is celebrating her 100th birthday on Tuesday, May 2, 2017. A
birthday celebration will be held for Mrs. Biggs on Saturday, April 29,
2017.

In 1917, the United States entered World War I, women did not yet
have the right to vote, and segregation was rampant in the South. This
is the year Mrs. Pearl Biggs was born to Mahaley Jones and Wiley

Mr. BISHOP of Georgia. Mr. Speaker, it is my honor and pleasure to
extend my personal congratulations to Mr. Richard ``Ricky'' McCorkle,
Superintendent of the Marion County School District, on his retirement
after 30 years as an educator and civic leader. He will be honored at a
retirement celebration on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the
Marion County Middle and High School cafeteria.

Before becoming an educator, Mr. McCorkle was an insurance salesman

Mr. BISHOP of Georgia. Mr. Speaker, I rise today to recognize an
outstanding artist and homegrown legend, the late great Gregg Allman.
Sadly, on Saturday, May 27, 2017, Gregg passed away peacefully at his
home in Savannah, Georgia. A private funeral was held in his hometown
of Macon, Georgia on Saturday, June 3, 2017 and he was laid to rest at
Macon's Rose Hill Cemetery beside his brother and bandmate, Duane

Mr. BISHOP of Georgia. Mr. Speaker, I rise today to extend my
sincerest congratulations and Happy Birthday wishes to an extraordinary
nurse, activist, advocate, and pioneer, Ms. Mary N. Long, who is
celebrating her 76th birthday on Monday, June 26, 2017. On this day,
there will be a celebration at Paschal's Restaurant in Atlanta,
Georgia.

Mary N. Long was born in Guthrie, Kentucky in 1941. She moved to
Atlanta in 1960 to attend the Grady Memorial Hospital's School of

Mr. BISHOP of Georgia. Mr. Speaker, I consider it my great honor and
pleasure to extend my sincerest congratulations to the Easterseals
Southern Georgia program as it celebrates 60 years of serving
individuals living with disabilities and their families. The
Easterseals Southern Georgia will celebrate this significant milestone
with a celebration on July 15, 2017 at the Doublegate Country Club in
Albany, GA.
