Bishop, Jr. (GA-02) is pleased to announce that eight healthcare providers across Georgia's Second Congressional District were awarded a total of $2,168,196 through the American Rescue Plan Act by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to improve access to COVID-19 vaccinations.
"As we head into another winter, we are seeing surging cases of the flu, Respiratory Syncytial Virus – more commonly referred to as RSV – and COVID-19," said Congressman Bishop.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Yesterday, all Democratic members of Georgia's U.S. House of Representatives delegation sent a letter to Georgia Governor Brian P. Kemp encouraging him to accept federal funds that can be used to expand Medicaid in an effort to stem the tide of hospital closures in the state. Wellstar Atlanta Medical Center is the latest hospital to announce its permanent closure, slated for November 1.

Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (GA-02) is pleased to announce that Fort Valley State University – Georgia's 1890 land-grant institution – has been awarded a grant of $6,494,625 from the Department of Health and Human Services' Early Head Start Child Care Partnership (EHS-CCP) and Early Head Start Expansion Program.
These funds will go toward ensuring quality, affordable childcare services, early childhood development, and increased school readiness in Peach County and Middle Georgia.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (GA-02) supported historic legislation that would put money back into the pockets of hardworking Georgia families while at the same time reduce the federal budget deficit by $300 billion to fight inflation.
"The Inflation Reduction Act puts people over politics, lowers costs, creates good-paying jobs, and builds safer communities for all Americans," said Congressman Bishop. "This bill will lower prescription drug costs, as well as keep health insurance premium costs low.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture, USDA of Rural Development is awarding $4.5 million in grants to improve and expand access of health care as well as improve health care facilities in rural Georgia. The awards being announced in Georgia are part of a nationwide announcement of $74 million to help 143 rural health care organizations expand critical services for 3 million people in 37 states.

CORDELE, Ga. (WALB) -The US Department of Agriculture is awarding $4.5 million to rural Georgia healthcare. A portion is going to Crisp Regional Hospital to help cover a loss of revenue after the COVID-19 pandemic.
One million dollars are going to Crisp Regional. The money will be used to cover expenses that are continuing to rise.
