Bishop, Jr. (GA-02), Chair of the U.S. House Appropriations Subcommittee on Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies, led the U.S. House of Representatives in adopting a funding bill that keeps the federal government open and serving the people.

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (GA-02) successfully directed $7.2 million to Albany-area projects in this year's Fiscal Year 2022 Transportation, and Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act. The City of Albany will get $5.2 million to expand Driskell Park's facilities as well as revitalize the Ritz Cultural Center, a historic landmark.

Bishop, Jr. (GA-02) secured $1.5 million for the Georgia Family Connection Partnership in the Fiscal Year 2022 Labor, Health and Human Resources, Education, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act which was approved by the House Appropriations last week and will now be considered by the full U.S. House of Representatives.

Bishop, Jr. (GA-02) successfully directed $500,000 to the Urban League of Greater Columbus for the revitalization and beautification of its historic headquarters. The project will preserve the architectural and cultural character of the building as well as ensure the safety of the facilities so that the organization can better assist the public.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (GA-02), Vice Chair of the Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies (MilCon/VA) Appropriations Subcommittee, voted in support of the Fiscal Year (FY) 2022 MilCon/VA appropriations bill. The funding bill is the product of months of bipartisan collaboration and provides $279.9 billion for programs which represents an increase of $28.1 billion – more than 10 percent – above 2021.
