WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Sanford D. Bishop Jr. (GA-02) supported the approval of the Fiscal Year 2023 Energy and Water Development and Related Agencies funding bill during its consideration by the full House Appropriations Committee. The bill included a measure that would improve the treatment and management of hydrilla, an invasive water plant which impacts waterways and their surrounding communities across the country, including Lake Seminole in Southwest Georgia.

Meanwhile in the evenly divided Senate, negotiations on a spending cap to govern the FY2023 appropriations process have come to a halt due to differences over total spending, investment in defense and earmarks.
