Decision on permit is near, Corps officials say
Consultants representing the Grady County Commission on its permit application to build a lake on Tired Creek met with federal officials here Friday to hash out concerns raised in the eleventh hour by U.S. Environmental Protection Agency officials.

Hundreds of Albany Technical College students accept diplomas, certificates and degrees Friday.
Washington, D.C. – Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (GA-2) announced that the Department of Veterans Affairs will start taking applications May 1st for The Marine Gunnery Sergeant John David Fry Scholarship, which Congress passed and was signed into law last year.
