BISHOP STATEMENT REGARDING EXPLOSIONS AT BOSTON MARATHON

April 16, 2013

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (GA-02), released the following statement regarding the explosions in Boston at the end of the Boston Marathon.

“My deepest thoughts and prayers go out to the people of Boston as they, and our nation, cope with the aftermath of the bombings at the Boston Marathon. America’s willingness to stay strong in the face of terror was evidenced yesterday, not only by the immediate reaction of police and first responders to the scene, but also by the numerous heartwarming acts of kindness exhibited by residents of Boston directly following yesterday’s acts of violence,” said Congressman Bishop. “The bombing in Boston reminds us that it is our duty to remain vigilant against threats of terrorism against the United States, especially because we are repeatedly reminded that the lives of families and innocents are in danger. Our country and I stand with the city of Boston as the authorities work towards uncovering and bringing to justice those responsible for this tragic incident.”
