Washington, DC – Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (GA-02) today announced he will host a Town Hall Meeting with U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lisa Jackson. The Town Hall Meeting will be held Friday, September 10, 2010, at South Georgia Technical College, Pope Center, 900 South Technical Parkway – Americus, Georgia 31709, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

A half-million dollars will be used to enhance water-saving projects in the Lower Flint River Basin.
Mr. Bishop (GA) – Madame Speaker, I rise today to pay tribute to a brave sailor, dedicated citizen, and a great American, U.S. Navy Senior Chief Petty Officer David Blake McLendon, who gave his life for his country.
Washington, DC – Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (GA-02) today announced today that an additional $500,000 in financial assistance has been approved for the Agricultural Water Enhancement Program (AWEP) in the Lower Flint River Basin project.

Two $400,000 grants by the United State Department of Agriculture have been awarded to benefit socially and economically disadvantaged farmers in Southwest Georgia.

ALBANY, GA – More money will be available to help South Georgia farmers conserve water.
More than $70,000 will be added to $2.3 million allocated last year for the Agricultural Water Enhancement Program in the Lower Flint River Basin.
