CONGRESMAN BISHOP SUPPORTS BIPARTISAN RESOLUTION SUPPORTING ISRAEL IN RESPONSE TO HAMAS’S TERRORIST ATTACK AND INVASION

WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (GA-02) supported H.Res. 771, a bipartisan resolution that reaffirms that the United States House of Representatives stands “with Israel as it defends itself against the barbaric war launched by Hamas and other terrorists.” Congressman Bishop is an original cosponsor of the resolution, which was approved in the House by a vote of 412-10.

“I stand firm in my support for Israel, its right to exist, and the need to protect its people. Hamas’s extraordinary terrorist attack and invasion of Israel earlier this month has not only cost the lives of innocent Israeli men, women, and children, but it also undermines the very aspirations for a peaceful coexistence and two-state solution that respects the rights and freedoms of Israelis and Palestinians,” said Congressman Bishop. “I supported this bipartisan resolution to send a clear message that America remains committed to Israel, its security, and a lasting peace in the region.”
