WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (GA-02) is pleased to announce that the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has allocated $64.9 million to Georgia to help with the recovery from the storms, hurricanes, and tornadoes that struck the state in 2017.
These funds are provided by HUD's Community Development Block Grant, Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) program, which helps fund the repair of damaged housing, businesses, and infrastructure from major natural disasters.

WASHINGTON, DC – Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue, in accordance with Section 321(a) of the Consolidated Farm and Rural Development Act, sent a letter on February 2, 2018 designating Seminole County and Grady County in Georgia's Second Congressional District as contiguous disaster areas. The designation follows a review of crop losses caused by Hurricane Irma, which struck the region during September 9-12, 2017.
The designation as a contiguous disaster area opens up eligibility for certain types of disaster loan assistance.
