REPS. BISHOP & LAMALFA LEAD AUTOMOTIVE PERFORMANCE & MOTORSPORTS CAUCUS IN THE 119TH CONGRESS
WASHINGTON – This week, Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (GA-02) and Congressman Doug LaMalfa (CA) re-registered the Congressional Automotive Performance and Motorsports Caucus and will serve as the caucus’s bipartisan Democratic and Republican co-chairs, respectively.
“Cars are part of what makes America great. They embody the freedom, technological innovation, and creative spirit of our country. They are everyday workhorses, engineering marvels that we push to the limits in sport and competition, and they are iconic national treasures that continue to be cherished by collectors and enthusiasts,” said Congressman Bishop. “I look forward to working with Congressman LaMalfa to highlight this important part of Americana which continues to inspire us to build and dream.”
“As a lifelong car enthusiast, I’ve spent most of my life working on cars and know firsthand how important this industry is to so many Americans,” said Congressman LaMalfa. “I’m happy to co-chair the Automotive Performance and Motorsports Caucus with Congressman Bishop, pushing back against overreach and keeping this passion alive for future car enthusiasts.”
The Automotive Performance and Motorsports Caucus was formed in 1996 to recognize the contributions the automotive performance and motorsports industry has made, and continues to make, to the U.S. economy.
Many Middle and Southwest Georgia communities host regular meets and annual expos, including events like Albany’s Southwest Georgia Car Show and the Moultrie Automotive Swap Meet which draws car enthusiasts and collectors from across the state.
