September 22, 2009

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (GA-02) announced today that the House of Representatives unanimously passed H. Res. 765, which expressed condolences to the families of the individuals killed during the recent storms and flooding in the state of Georgia, as well as gratitude to all of the emergency personnel who continue to work to meet the needs of Georgia’s residents. Bishop was a co-sponsor of the resolution.

“My thoughts and prayers are with the citizens of the areas affected by the flooding, especially those who have lost loved ones and who have suffered damage to their homes and possessions,” Bishop said. “I hope that with the passage of this resolution, the people of Georgia will be assured that the Federal government stands ready to assist with recovery efforts and the process of rebuilding the hardest hit areas of our communities.”
