WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (GA-02) released the following statement regarding the passing this past weekend of Senator John McCain (R-AZ).

"Our country has lost a true patriot. Throughout his life, Senator John McCain always put God, Country, and service to others before himself and his party. He was a true hero who embodied what it meant to be patriotic, compassionate, and to stand with conviction.
