CONGRESSMAN BISHOP STATEMENT ON THE PASSING OF CONGRESSMAN A. DONALD MCEACHIN

November 30, 2022
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (GA-02) issued the following statement regarding the death of Congressman A. Donald McEachin (VA-04):
"I join those mourning the passing of Congressman Donald McEachin. Throughout his recent health challenges, he was unwavering in his service to his constituents and his commitment to uphold civil rights and improve the environment and quality of life for all Americans now and for generations ahead. Moreover, he was my friend and fraternity brother.
"Congress has lost a gentle giant and servant leader. He was a role model to countless young Americans — especially the brothers of Kappa Alpha Psi — whose legacy of "achievement in every field of human endeavor" is reflected in Donald's career of public service.
"My wife, Vivian, and I convey our deepest sympathy to his wife, Colette, their children, family, friends, and all those who join us in mourning his loss."
