BISHOP STATEMENT REGARDING PRESIDENT’S FISCAL YEAR 2014 BUDGET PROPOSAL

April 10, 2013

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (GA-02) issued a statement following the release of President Obama’s budget proposal for fiscal year 2014.

“Though not perfect, especially to those concerned with fully protecting Social Security, the President’s proposal is a first step towards finding a solid budget compromise which will reduce the deficit, invest in our nation, and strengthen our middle class,” said Congressman Bishop. “The people of Georgia have made it clear that they want government to make common sense and responsible decisions when tackling the difficult challenges our country faces, and so, I am hopeful that Congress will come together to craft a balanced agreement that will create jobs, lift sequestration, and reinforce the economy for the long term.”
