USDA grants ReConnect Loan to bring high-speed internet to rural areas in Middle Georgia

CRAWFORD COUNTY, Ga. (WGXA) -- The United States Department of Agriculture's Secretary of Rural Development, Xochitl Torres Small, along with State Representative Sanford Bishop have announced a $36.4M high-speed infrastructure investment in the Midstate that will connect over 21,000 people to Public Service high-speed internet in rural areas across Central Georgia.
The infrastructure will also connect 569 businesses, 323 farms, and 29 educational facilities in Bibb, Crawford, Macon, Marion, Monroe, Talbot, and Taylor counties.
This investment comes courtesy of the USDA's ReConnect Loan to help bring high-speed internet to rural areas.
