USDA Conservation Chief Dave White joined Congressman Sanford Bishop in Albany to make a big announcement
ALBANY, GA -- USDA Conservation Chief Dave White joined Congressman Sanford Bishop in Albany to make a big announcement. White says the Agricultural Water Enhancement Program in Southwest Georgia's Lower Flint River Basin will get an additional $70,000 in funding. White addressed the importance of water conservation and how Southwest Georgians have taken initiatives to save water.
White says he hopes other states will follow our farmers lead. “They've taken something that was a concept in a laboratory and have moved it just in a few years to commercialization. And now other areas across the United States will be able to learn from them,” says White.
White says he considers Southwest Georgia to be a world leader in irrigation technology. He says he jumped at the chance to visit the area and see it firsthand.
