On Monday city leaders and the Albany-Dougherty Economic Commission welcomed General Dynamics to town

ALBANY, GA -- A new business neighbor has moved into Albany. On Monday city leaders and the Albany-Dougherty Economic Commission welcomed General Dynamics to town.

The defense contractor specializes in business aviation and manufacturing combat vehicles. Their arrival could mean big things for the Marine Corps Logistics Base in Albany.

“Economically for this community as they bring in new employees and as they enhance the economic impact on this area, but also for our national security and the job that the men and women at the Marine Corps Logistics Base are able to perform,” said Rep. Sanford Bishop

General Dynamics is currently in talks for a contract at the MCLB. If they get it, it could mean more jobs in Dougherty County.
