Floods and Tornadoes

Extreme weather and major storms can lead to floods and tornadoes. The following are federal as well as state resources that can be helpful in preparing for these natural disasters. But it also helps to be prepared for even less severe storms. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Ready.gov website includes a section on how to prepare for and stay safe during thunderstorms and lightning.
During storm season it is important to pay attention to updates from the local media outlets. Also, contact my office with any needs or concerns you may have. If any of our district offices are ever required to evacuate, you can always reach my staff in our Washington, D.C. office at (202) 225-3631.
