FY2011 Congressionally Directed Appropriations Requests Individuals or organizations wishing to make requests for funding through the Congressionally Directed Appropriations process can do so by completing a request form and submitting it to Congressman Bishop for consideration. For more information, please click here.
FY2010 Appropriations Requests I am proud to serve on the House Appropriations Committee and strongly believe that the process of Congressionally-directed funding – sometimes known as “earmarks” – is essential to revitalizing communities, particularly rural communities, across the state of Georgia and throughout the nation. However, in the past, the process has lacked transparency and accountability, making it subject to abuse. This year, Congress has instituted wide-ranging reforms to ensure that every American can easily determine the source of each and every request. In the spirit of transparency, below you will find a list of my FY10 funding requests with an explanation regarding the purpose of the request and why it is a valuable use of taxpayer funds. As always, please feel free to contact my office if you have any questions.
