CHAIRMAN BISHOP WELCOMES USDA RESOURCES FOR 2018-2019 DISASTER RELIEF AVAILABLE ON WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 11, 2019
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (GA-02), Chairman of the U.S. House Appropriations Subcommittee on Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies, released a statement following the United States Department of Agriculture’s announcement that the signups for disaster assistance will open on this Wednesday, September 11, 2019:
“It has been a long road to get the disaster relief Middle and Southwest Georgians desperately need since Hurricane Michael ripped through our district in October 2018.
“I am thankful Secretary Perdue and the staff at the Department of Agriculture have now released the plan. Thanks to their hard work, Americans all over the nation and across the territories will finally have access to the aid they need to rebuild our communities and move forward towards recovery.”
