WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (GA-02) voted in support of H.R. 2810, the National Defense Authorization Act of Fiscal Year 2018, which would provide $700 billion for our national defense. The legislation contains provisions that would increase the current active troop level by more than 16,000.

ALBANY, GA – Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (GA-02) welcomed today's federal major disaster declaration for additional counties in Middle and Southwest Georgia impacted by major storms and tornadoes on January 22, 2017. This declaration is distinct from yesterday's declaration, which was in response to the storms that occurred on January 2, 2017.

Bishop, Jr. (GA-02) today welcomed the major disaster declaration issued by the President for counties in Middle and Southwest Georgia struck by major storms and tornadoes on January 2, 2017. The declaration opens up potential eligibility for federal disaster assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
