Explanation: Funds are requested for the construction of an equipment/storage building, which complies with federal, state, and local protocols for disaster planning and hazards.
Proposed Recipient: Grady Health System
Amount: $2,500,000

Explanation: Funding is requested for the development of the Grady Health Center Mobile Command Hospital for disaster response. In disasters requiring medical response to large-scale incidents, the need for a mobile command unit and field hospital is paramount. Grady is the only Level I trauma Center in the Atlanta metro area, the EMS provider for the City of Atlanta-Fulton County and the Regional Coordinating Hospital for disaster response.

Amount: $18,000,000

Explanation: Funding is requested for the C4 Center initiative which will create a “command center” that can coordinate disaster response among the many response organizations in the region (federal, state and local) at a secure yet accessible location.
